a ratio of freckles to starsvirginia,

every direction:

a universe
of sunlight & marrow bones

your touch
had vertigo then--
a certain horse sadness

i remember how you
would swallow the stars:
watch them glow through your cheeks

(no one told you
what they thought of light & dying
of being a constellation
drawn across your face)

you are the milky way:
a firefly drowning

but i will trail you--

like backs

     Joy in your laughter, music in your voice

Nothing quite compares
CountermelodiesWhen it begins,
it’s like discovering
the decadence of music.
Perhaps your breath hitches
on the cello carrying the countermelody.
It reminds you of their voice,
as they warm spices in the kitchen
and you’d wrap your arms around them from behind,
like the horns come up from under
and saturate the harmony.
Their body feels familiar in all different ways,
a second listen granted to a beautiful movement.

You can’t tell them you repeat
the first song they showed you
because it smells like their skin
If you listen close enough.
And they can’t tell you that
they try to harmonize with your
speaking voice on the phone

  Emerald leaves, orange light,
  Swaying bluebells, pink clouds,
  Rustling trees, calling birds,
  In the stillness of the forest.

  We wandered from the gravel path,
  Careful where we trod,
  Not to crush the innocent flowers,
  That tinted a fine fragrance.

  Past the great oak,
  Beyond the pine and beech,
  Our fingers entwined together,
  My hand locked safely in his.

  Great gorges and steep cliffs,
  We passed before an opening,
  Where light shone through gracefully,
  Catching on mysterious forms.

  The rosebay willowherb seeds
  Floated and waltzed effortlessly
  Through the air and caugh
A Lack of EloquenceYou told me you wanted to be a writer someday
And I couldn't help but wonder if you'd ever written about me
I went home and tried to write something beautiful about you
But I couldn't find the words
I don't know how to describe the kindness in your eyes
Or the way your voice sends shivers down my spine
Or how you linger in my dreams at night
No matter how I string my words together
They never quite seem to do you justice
You must forgive me for my lack of eloquence
And understand all the things I'm trying to tell you
When at last, for all my trying, the only words I have are these:
"I love you, I love you, I love you"
You are a bittersweet beauty with hips that lie.Do I crave you because I crave a intense muse?

My heart bruises,

soul feels ripped.

I still want you.

I don’t need you.

I want you.

I want your flesh upon mine.

Whiskey lips and hips that don’t lie.

Bone against bone.

My body is my home.

Experience the bittersweet beauty.
BeautySmiling into the sunshine I go,
the warm rays on my face as I walk.
The world around me is vibrant,
every color rushing to meet my gaze.
The world seems as if it is waiting for me,
opening its beauty to my eyes.
A drop of water touches my face,
from the sky they fall,
bringing out new color and life.
I sit in the rain as around me it falls.
I would try to find the most beautiful things,
but you are the most beautiful thing of all.
It hurtIt hurt you know,
Falling for you.

I felt very bump and bang,
Every bruise and break.
I tried to hold on,
I tried to slow down,
I tried to stop.
But it was inevitable.
Gravity was too much,
It kept pulling me down
To you.

And when I landed,
When I hit the ground
At your feet
I could barely breathe.
It was too much
For anyone to handle
Let alone me.

But I watched you reach down,
And felt you pick me up.
You gathered together
All my broken pieces
And worked for days
Making me whole again.

It took time
But I finally realised
That for me to fall down to you
Meant that you
Had fallen too.

So once I was rebuilt
I searched for your missing p
Eternal LoveI never thought this day would come so soon.
And yet I always knew it was to come.
For we are nothing but another side of each other.
For all those years we were two sides of a single coin,
Spinning round and round but never facing one another, never meeting.
But those days have passed. We have joined in more ways than one.
And now we complete each other, black and white, white and black…
Different but the same. We will always continue to fly under the same sky.
Together. Nothing else matters but the connection we share.
This connection which binds us, it runs through our veins, through our blood, long before we ever met.
Eternal. Like the symbols that matched our colours and understood our souls.

of raven rings
which carry us away,

you eluded all my senses
and my fate was sealed
long before ever I knew it,
and yet you are not the only
one with secrets,
I who once danced in the moon
with trickster spirit,
I hold the key which open the doors
to your soul, kept in a box
with no lid nor lock,
so thusly we have managed  
to irrevocably capture
one another.

I sat on my knees in front of Xander. The war was over and he had won. We had to give up one of our rights. He assigned me this 'wonderful' and 'great' job. Thinking about it made me sick.

"Have you made your decision?" He questioned me.

I weakly nodded my head. "The seventh amendment," My voice was a chocked whisper. It was raw from crying and yelling at the stupid guards who had locked me in a cell.

Xander nodded his head with a sick smile. He gave a simple flick with his wrist. The guards whisked me away.

Most Important RightI feel that the first amendment to the US Constitution is the most important. If we couldn't say what we felt we would basically be robots. The press communicates to us and if we didn't have that we wouldn't know what in God's name was going on in the world. Religion is very important to some people. Taking that away from those people would basically kill them.

Speaking out mind is not just part of our culture as Americans, but as humanities culture. No matter the punishment we have ALWAYS spoken out. I believe we will continue to do so till the human race is no longer existing. And we don't just speak what we feel. We sing it. We write it.

The World Conference was beginning. Everyone had arrived on time and it seemed that no one was late. That is except to Austria and Germany who had a strange suspicion someone was coming.

"Somevone is coming!" Germany insisted. "I'm not making this up!"

Austria jumped in as well. "As much as it pains me to say this," He began. "But I agree with Germany. We have to be missing someone."

Switzerland slammed his fists on the table. "Would you two shut up!" He yelled. "We're all here. We can begin."

A mistress pleading to her lover to stay with her for the day and leave his wife at home. She'll call throughout the day to find out where she's at while the mistress begs for him to ignore her.

I actually like the kind of rhythm I put to this. Along with the three lines of three words and the last line being just one.

Critics - as usual - are wanted.

Its a good poem, with a subtle kick to it. Its nothing generic, and definitely out of the box.

I like that approach - gives a new perspective too. This poem has that; it may be blunt in its presentation, but its certainly entertaining.

I say that because the three-three-three-one ratio of division was a good idea... gives each word a weight of its own.

... I don't know why, but this reminds me a lot of Chinese literature; its crisp, solid, but not wasted away. In most cases its true, but for the most part it highlights doubt right till the end.

Well done! Keep writing.
